Younes Musa has been ruled out of the remainder of the season with a knee injury, while the injury update on Youssoufa Moukoko is that he will be sidelined for several weeks.
The 18-year-old midfielder sustained a knee injury in training and will miss the rest of the season. He was injured during the first half of Sunday's Bundesliga match against Hannover 96, where he came off the bench to replace Juhani Kustaa.
Moukoko made his debut for Dortmund in the 2-0 win over Werder Bremen last month, scoring a goal in a 5-1 victory. The youngster has impressed in the Bundesliga this season, making seven appearances and contributing one assist.
Dortmund manager Lucien Favre said after the game against Hannover that Moukoko had "a slight problem" with his knee but that it was not serious. He added that the club would assess the situation before deciding whether to operate on the teenager or wait until the summer transfer window.
Favre also confirmed that Musa has suffered a knee injury and that he will be out for the remainder of the season. The winger has made 14 appearances this season, scoring three goals and assisting two.
Musa's injury means that Dortmund will have to look for alternative options in attack going forward. With Musa out, Fabian Harrer could take over as the club's leading scorer, having scored five goals in his four matches since returning from injury.
It remains to be seen how long Moukoko will be out for, but the club will need to ensure that he recovers quickly and returns to full fitness as soon as possible. The young midfielder has shown great potential at Dortmund so far this season and will undoubtedly be missed by both fans and teammates alike.
