The streak of 25 consecutive starts for Monaco goalkeeper Eduardo Mitrovic has come to an end.
Mitrovic, who joined Monaco in January, had been one of the most consistent performers in Ligue 1 this season, keeping seven clean sheets in his first 17 matches.
However, he was forced off during the match against Troyes on Saturday due to a knee injury and was unable to continue.
It is understood that Mitrovic will undergo further medical tests to determine the extent of the injury.
The news comes as a disappointment for Monaco, who have struggled without their key player in goal.
The club will now turn their attention to finding a replacement for Mitrovic, with a number of options available including international players and experienced professionals.
The loss of Mitrovic could also impact Monaco's chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League, which they currently sit four points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite the setback, Mitrovic's performances this season have been impressive and he will be sorely missed by his teammates and supporters alike. The club will now need to find a new way forward and hope that Mitrovic's absence does not cost them too much in the coming weeks and months.
